Fast Facts Cup

Term 2 2010 Fast Facts Subtraction: students improve speed and accuracy. The fastest student will receive a trophy, as will the biggest improver. It's fun and motivating! This is a great way of ensuring students are applying the mental strategies they've learnt.  Racing to beat your own Personal Best time is a proven way of motivating those who struggle with speed.

Fastest: Zane Dema who answered all 25 questions correctly in 33 seconds.
Most Improved: Adrian Princic who improved his time by 89 seconds.

Some of the improvements in speed have been staggering! Ask us how much faster your child's calculations are.

Z enrolled at the start of 2008 with a final exam result of 49% last year. She knew she needed some help to get a decent result in her School Certificate this year. She just received her first school assessment mark and it was 88%. When I suggested that she was "quietly delighted" she responded "Actually I nearly fainted! 4 of our students from Woonona H.S. have come top of their classes in recent exams. 1 student from Smiths Hill H.S. scored 100% in a recent test!

Owner: Sally Warren

Hi, I'm Sally. I am the owner and manager of NumberWorks'nWords Wollongong.

I am a qualified primary school teacher and taught maths in Canberra high schools for several years before travelling the world. In 1991 I joined NumberWorks as manager of the Chatswood centre. I became the first Australian franchisee in 1995 in Bondi Junction. In 2005 my family made a sea change to the Illawarra, opening the Wollongong centre. We love living near the sea in Thirroul!

I also love my job. The NumberWorks'nWords program has enabled me to help thousands of students achieve goals and learning outcomes that they never believed possible. It's all done with the right combination of serious teaching, confidence building and FUN.

I am a Learning Links teacher and a member of the Australian Tutoring Association. I sometimes teach in local schools which keeps me in touch with the public school community.

The Wollongong centre is always filled with love, laughter and learning. This positive atmosphere enables students to achieve their goals without stress.

I have 3 gorgeous children ranging in age from 16 to 5. My partner, David, holds the fort at home while I'm busy teaching. When I'm not working I enjoy cooking, reading, gardening, watching my kids play soccer and hanging out on the beach.
