Owner: Sonia Brocklehurst

Hi I'm Sonia, the owner and Manager of NumberWorks'nWords Dee Why.

I have been a teacher for 12 years now. I studied at The University of New South Wales before my first teaching position in 1998 at The King's School, where I worked for five years. I then headed to the UK where I taught in the city of Exeter. On my return to Australia, I worked at St Ignatius' College before moving to Ravenswood School for Girls and then finally to Knox Grammar. 

I really enjoy the challenges of tutoring children and find it an extremely satisfying job. There is nothing better than seeing children grow in confidence and start to not just like, but love learning!

I live on the northern beaches and love everything that it has to offer. I have travelled the world and visited places like South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Kenya, Dubai, Hong Kong and dozens of places throughout Europe. My spare time is taken up playing music - I play both the trumpet and the piano, playing tennis and netball and catching up with friends and family.

Hi, my name is Aimee and I am the manager of NumberWorks'nWords Dee Why.

I grew up in country New South Wales and moved to the Northern Beaches in 2005 to study a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Education majoring in Mathematics at Macquarie University. While completing my degree I realised that I had a passion for tutoring children and this is when I found NumberWorks'nWords. The fun and exciting environment that NumberWorks'nWords creates to foster children's learning really drew me in. I really enjoy seeing the improvements that students can make with that bit of extra confidence that comes from a helping hand. This makes tutoring an extremely satisfying job.

Since moving to the Northern Beaches I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. The lifestyle here is wonderful! When I'm not on the beaches I am pursuing my other passion, travelling. I have travelled much of Asia and Europe and have big plans to travel throughout South America, Africa and of course more of Europe. I also love to catch up with friends and family who both make up a large part of my life.
